Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our swim programs, scheduling, and more.
Getting Started
What age can my child start swim lessons?
We offer parent-child classes for babies as young as 6 months old. Independent swim lessons typically begin at age 3, when children are developmentally ready to follow instructions from an instructor.
Does my child need any prior swimming experience?
No prior experience is needed. We have programs designed specifically for complete beginners, including those who may have a fear of water. Our instructors are trained to work with students at all skill levels.
What should my child wear to swim lessons?
Children should wear a comfortable, well-fitting swimsuit. For babies and toddlers not yet potty trained, a swim diaper is required under the swimsuit. Goggles are optional but can help children feel more comfortable.
Classes & Scheduling
How long are the swim lessons?
Most group lessons are 30 minutes long, which is optimal for maintaining focus and energy. Private lessons can be 30 or 60 minutes depending on the student’s age and goals.
How many students are in each class?
Our group classes maintain a maximum 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio to ensure personalized attention and safety. Private lessons are 1:1 or can include siblings at the same level.
What if we need to miss a class?
We offer make-up classes for missed sessions when possible. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you’ll miss a class so we can help you reschedule.
Safety & Instructors
What certifications do your instructors have?
All our instructors are certified in CPR, First Aid, and lifeguarding. They also complete our proprietary Learn To Swim America instructor training program and undergo continuous professional development.
What safety measures are in place?
Safety is our top priority. All lessons are supervised by certified instructors and lifeguards. Our facilities meet or exceed all health and safety regulations, and we maintain strict water quality standards.
Is a parent required to be present during lessons?
For parent-child classes (6 months – 3 years), a parent or guardian must be in the water with the child. For independent lessons, parents are welcome to observe from our designated viewing areas.
